Graeme has a doctorate in reproductive endocrinology and after graduating he worked for 2 years with the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (France) and for 3 years with the Medical Research Council (UK). He then accepted a joint position at The University of WA and CSIRO, later transferring full-time to the University and reached the level of full Professor in 2001.
- Just completed 7 years as Head of the School of Animal Biology.
- Published over 280 peer-reviewed articles (h-index = 40), trained 28 PhD students to completion and been awarded $4.6m funding (Australian Research Council, National Health & Medical Research Council, Rural Industries Research & Development Corporation, Meat & Livestock Australia).
- Passionate about science communication and teach it at university level – my own work has featured over 200 times in mass media.
- Currently leading “UWA Future Farm 2050” a major project on that marries agricultural enterprises with the restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity on the university farm
