Wayne is a wildlife veterinarian and conservationist. Has worked with captive and wild animal populations in the UK, NZ, Uganda and Australia over many years. Recently become a European registered specialist in the Zoological medicine specifically Wildlife Population health. Presently Lecturer in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine and Veterinary biosecurity at the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, University of Adelaide. Areas of interest include:
- Emerging infectious diseases of wildlife, wildlife disease ecology, one health, and conservation medicine with research projects in emerging diseases of marsupials, marine mammals, birds and reptiles
- Ecology and reintroduction of native species.
