Michael’s early research was in the area of applied economics of agriculture (and later natural resource) economics. He has significant experience and expertise in the area of non-market valuation. This expertise has been in areas of both developments in theory, and in applications of the approach to a wide range of circumstances, with a strong emphasis on environmental applications. He also works in the area of integrated bio-economic models.
